The Graf Zeppelin airship was named after its designer—Count (“Graf” in German) Ferdinand von Zeppelin. An enormous, aluminum-framed, lighter-than-air craft, the Graf made its first dramatic trans-Atlantic voyage in 1928. To celebrate this remarkable marvel of ingenuity, the United States issued these stamps for use on mail carried on the first European Pan-American round trip flight of the Graf Zeppelin in May of 1930. These stamps were only offered for sale for only one month, which made them an instant collectible. Graf Zeppelin stamps have been the desire of every stamp collector’s heart. Now, for a limited time, you can own all three of these scarce 1930-dated specimens in XF Original Gum, Never Hinged condition—certified by PSE.
