The "Mercury" Dime is considered the U.S. Mint's most handsome dime. It features a Winged liberty Head - a symbol of free thought- that was created by renowned "Walking Liberty" designer Adolph Weinman. Its design resembles the Roman God Mercury who wore a winded cap. The Mercury Dime circulated during some of America's most pivotal eras: the Roaring Twenties, WWI, the Great Depression and WWII. The popular series was struck until Franklin Roosevelt's death in 1945. A dime in his likeness replaced the popular predecessor. Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
