These 1923 Series $1 Silver Certificates are the last "horse blanket" (oversize) notes. The next series (1928) were notes of the same size currently used today. Coveted by collectors, these Silver Certificates were once backed by silver currency kept in U.S. Treasury vaults, redeemable for silver coins. Our notes are in About Uncirculated condition or better, so every ornate detail is clearly visible.
