The "Roaring Twenties" was a time of jazz, prohibition, speakeasies, "Lucky Lindbergh," Babe Ruth and Al Capone. It was a decade of epic proportions. But when these gorgeous, oversized U.S. Gold Certificates were outlawed in 1933, millions were recalled and destroyed by the U.S. Treasury. Today, while it's legal to own them, they are very difficult to find. Gold Certificates are actually rarer that gold coins of the era, but surprisingly more affordable! These "horse blanket" notes from the 1922 Series feature distinctive gold-colored ink details and were the last of the oversized Gold Certificates ever issued. A collector favorite, ours are guaranteed to be in at least Very Fine condition.
