One of the Roman Empire’s most infamous emperors, Nero is famous for playing his fiddle while Rome burned from a fire he set (and then blamed on the early Christians). Unpopular in his own lifetime due to his wretched excesses, his coins are among the most collected of any Roman emperor. These 90% silver Tetradrachms were struck during Nero’s reign from 54-68 AD. Each was individually struck by hand so no two are exactly alike.
