| Following the first Gulf War in 1991, Iraq issued new currency that was used until Saddam Hussein was thrown from power in 2003. Now you can own this historic collection that includes three emergency bank notes issued right after the first Gulf War, plus eight bank notes featuring Saddam's portrait and themes of cultural importance. Due to the war in Iraq, crisp uncirculated Iraqi Dinar like those found in this 11-note set issued by the Central Bank of Iraq are rapidly disappearing, often mishandled and becoming increasingly rare as most were destroyed when new bank notes were printed without Saddam's portrait in 2003. |
